Are you happy?

Happiness ...

Many people want to be "happier" or simply to be "happy".
My question is how do you define happiness? How do you
measure it? How do you know when you have reached
"happiness".

People tend to think of happiness as a destination or an
object to be acquired. Nothing can be further from the
truth. Happiness is a sensation, happiness is a choice,
happiness is part of the journey. Perhaps if we all stopped
striving so hard to "be happy" we would actually be happy!

I have collected a few quotes this week, on happiness, for
you to reflect on:

"Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of
happiness; it is generally the by-product of other
activities."
Aldous Huxley

"Happiness depends more on the inward disposition of mind
than on outward circumstances."
Benjamin Franklin

"There is only one way to happiness, and that is to cease
worrying things which are beyond the power of our will."
Epictetus

"No man is happy who does not think himself so."
Publilius Syrus

Have an inspiring (and happy) week!
