Peace

July 12, 2005

This week's a2a Inspiration is in respect of those
subscribers in London. My thoughts are with you and hope
you are all safe and healthy. I am happy to report that all
family members and friends of my family are safe.

Naturally the news coverage over the past few days has been
saturated with images and stories from the public transport
explosions which have occurred in London. Amongst the
stories of death, destruction and injury there are some
stories of inspiration. They are stories that reflect the
human spirit, compassion, determination, and what can only
be described as fate.

* an Australian couple were on the top deck of the ill
fated Bus #30 - both have walked away relatively unharmed
* Londoners turn out in force to mark the 60th anniversary
of the end of World War II in spite of the recent bombings.

* Australian man who narrowly missed being hurt in Bali at
the Sari Club bombing was also on board on of the London
train impacted by the bombing this week in London. When
asked by a reporter would he remain in London or come back
to Australia he replied "I will stay. What is the point of
wrapping yourself up in cotton wool and never traveling
again. When your number is up - it's up. I won't let this
stop me living my life."
* a photo of a man assisting a woman with a burnt face away
from a train station. He is holding a special mask to her
face to help treat her. They don't know each other but he
would like to find what hospital she went to to make sure
she is alright.

and finally a quote ...
" peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state
of mind, a disposition of benevolence, confidence,
justice."
Benedict de Spinoza

Have an inspiring week!

Linda
