What did you want?

December 6, 2004

How do you feel when something doesn't turn out the way you
wanted it to? Perhaps frustrated or disappointed?

Sometimes we hold on so tightly to our preconceived outcome
for a situation that we lose the ability to appreciate what
else exists. It is as though we put on a set of blinkers
which prevent us from seeing the broader picture. We
believe that our outcome is the only outcome and anything
else just isn't good enough.

"Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a
wonderful stroke of luck. The goal is to view every
doorway, even one with a shadow, as an opening to new
horizons."

The Dali Lama

Can you remember a time in your life when you didn't get
what you wanted yet something amazing happened as a result?
If you could turn back time would you want to change that?
I doubt it .... I wouldn't.

Have an inspiring week!
