At a Coaching Conference I recently attended a key themes that kept presenting itself was "You need to let go of things to allow new things to come".
Some definitions (as per my brain):
Need: essential, not optional, required
Let Go: release, set free
Things: ideas, beliefs, relationships, activities ... this list is endless
Allow: accept, permit, invite
New: fresh, never before experienced
Come: arrive
In theory this idea is probably not new to you, however, the reality of doing can be more challenging. It requires trust, courage and commitment because we can become very attached to the "Things" in our life.
An interesting point that came up around this was that sometimes we need to let go of things we actually really like or are actually very good at ... we sometimes need to let them go because they are not serving us in the best possible way at that time. Hmmmm ... so much easier to let go of the things that make us feel bad ...
Think of an area of your life that is frustrating you or you are not making progress in ....
What could you let go of to allow something new to come in?
