Creating Change > 5 Tips to managing the unexpected in life

I confess that recently my life took an unexpected turn which inspired this article.

It was tempting to have a meltdown about the sudden and unforseen changes but instead I chose to remind myself of these 5 very useful tips:

Tip 1: Think "anything is possible" - often when challenges or obstacles arise it is easy to focus on how "hard" this makes life. How you can't do x,y,z ... try thinking that anything is possible .. really possible ... and see if that opens up some new ideas and opportunities

Tip 2: Remember "how to eat an elephant" - a great saying when you feel overwhelmed in life! Q: 'How do you eat an elephant?' A: 'One bite at a time'

Tip 3: Don't fight it - the change is going to happen whether you like it or not. So instead of resisting it try to let go and go with the flow.

Tip 4: Enjoy the Ride - it can be easy to spend a lot of energy "not liking" change which is really unhelpful. Try adopting a perspective the the journey can be fun, the new experiences can be fun, and the unknown can be fun

Tip 5: Remember "this too shall pass" - a beautiful Buddhist saying. All things in life pass ... the challenging, the easy, the sad, the happy ... so ... this too shall pass
